The Bridestowe Lavender Farm is world famous for all the right reasons. The picturesque fields of lavender are in bloom in the months of December and January; however, the farm is impressive at any time of the year. While you are there make sure to taste the amazing lavender ice cream!
Drive up the steep, winding Jacobs Ladder where you will be greeted by an alpine Plateau that showcases some of the North’s most stunning views! If you’re lucky enough to be visiting during winter, you can hire a snowboard or ski’s and hit the snowy slopes! Bridport, a small beach-side town filled with clear blue waters and friendly locals We recommend stopping by the Old Pier, Mermaids Beach, and The Bridport Distillery to experience the best of the town. Further afield is the renowned, world-class gold course, with golfers from all countries flying in to experience the courses! There is also a tranquil spa on-site, where you can overlook the ocean whilst sipping on a glass of wine or champagne.
Situated on the Mersey River, Latrobe is known for its beautiful parks, fresh produce, unique shops, and native wildlife. Take a walk down to the river and you might just be lucky enough to spot a platypus, or two! The Axeman’s Hall of Fame is not to be missed, nor the renowned Reliquare gift shop that showcases amazing items and displays!
Once a quiet mining town, Derby is now bustling with tourists and locals all year round! Penny Royal World is a fabulous day out. situated inside the outskirts of the rock formations of the Cataract Gorge, you can choose from boat rides, rock climbing, rope courses and more. For adults there are wonderful coffee shops and wine bars to enjoy while the children play.
Take a drive to Mole Creek where you
can book an underground, guided tour amongst the caves. Spot endangered species and glow worms amongst the calcites, stalactites, and stalagmites. Nearby is the Trowunna Wildlife Sanctuary, who play a large role in animal conservation. Here you can spot native animals in their natural habitats, interact with Tasmanian Devils and Wombats, or take a tour!

The Cataract Gorge Circuit allows guests to see a large portion of the beautiful landmark, whilst crossing a long swinging bridge, walking along the basin waterfront, and gazing at panoramic views from all angles. For a slightly more challenging walk,
head to the Duck Reach Power Station. Inspiring the current hydro-industrialization in Tasmania, this was Australia’s first publicly-owned hydro-electric power station!
Here you will find an enchanting short, looped walking trail, with pieces of history etched within its roots. This breathtaking rainforest is filled with tall eucalyptus trees, freshwater streams, a variety of fungus species, and wildlife
including Tasmanian Devils, wallabies,
birdlife and ringtail possums. History is etched within the trails and trees!
Abundant with many varieties of native flora and fauna, the estuarine wetland ecosystem is made up of islands, mudflats, and lagoons. Make your way along the boardwalk and spot the various species of birds, reptiles, mammals, and invertebrates, whilst winding through the
tall Tasmanian Grass species.
Lilydale falls is nestled amongst the
temperate rainforests. Explore the
stunning, local flora and fauna whilst
enjoying a short bushwalk that leads to the fresh-flowing waterfall. There are also open grounds here for you to take in your natural surroundings, whilst enjoying a picnic.
There is an extensive range of beautiful walks amongst Tasmania’s native bushland and native flora and fauna, found at the Trevallyn Recreational Area. Whilst here, we
recommend visiting the Trevallyn Dam, where you will be amazed by the strong water flow that is used to produce hydroelectricity to the State!
